Relationship and Research PR Officer

Location:  Highfield Campus Closing Date:  Friday 02 February 2024 Interview Date:   To be confirmed This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Optoelectronics Research Centre’s (ORC) Business Development team as a Relationship and Research (R&R) Public Relations (PR) Officer.  You will work both independently and collaboratively with the ORC’s Business Development team and other internal stakeholders as well as with external suppliers, to support the branding, marketing and communications for both the ORC and a wide range of collaborative programmes. The ORC’s contributions have been fundamental to the development of critical global technologies, and we boast cutting edge facilities including one of the best academic cleanroom laboratory complexes in Europe.  The Business Development (BD) team provides a wide range of support services to facilitate partnership and collaboration with external partners, and delivers communications and marketing strategies so to raise awareness and engagement with research. About the role The successful candidate will: Develop and deliver a plan to promote the ORC’s research to external markets, using multiple channels Lead on the development of relevant content and material for distribution and dissemination via websites, reports, presentations, email and social media channels.   Be responsible for helping organise and participate in key external and internal events, ensuring focus is on branding, communications and stakeholder liaison   About you We are looking for candidates who will bring a passion for marketing and communications, demonstrating experience from concept through to delivery, and have a proven record of accomplishment for delivering high quality marketing and communications campaigns.   Specifically, you will have: Exceptional organisational skills, with an eye for detail, able to prioritise well and manage often multiple tasks and deadlines. Experience as an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and confident with building relationships and working alongside a variety of colleagues.  Evidence of proven work experience acquired in relevant roles and job-related training.
