We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join my client, a charity based in Watford. As a payroll professional, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that our staff members receive accurate and timely compensation.
Responsibilities:
- Database Management:
- Maintain and update our integrated eHR/payroll database.
- Effect changes to salary, statutory adjustments, and collective modifications.
- Review staff expense claim forms and validate receipts in alignment with our expenses policy and HMRC regulations.
- Take corrective measures when necessary to ensure timely and accurate payments to existing and new staff.
- Statutory Compliance:
- Process statutory notifications and payments (e.g., SMP, SSP).
- Handle voluntary deductions, third-party payments, and occupational entitlements.
- Ensure precise calculations to maintain compliance.
- Administer pension contribution changes according to Action for Children policies and auto-enrolment laws.
- Effective Communication:
- Communicate professionally (both verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external bodies (e.g., HMRC).
- Strive for satisfactory resolutions in all interactions.
- Service Excellence:
- Adhere to agreed service standards.
- Maintain detailed audit trails of actions taken and changes implemented.
- Handle enquiries from solicitors, financial institutions, and social security agencies.
- Address escalated queries from other internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 years in payroll administration.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with statutory regulations, payroll processes, and pension schemes.
- Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Oracle and Itrent Experience required.
The role is a remote role with a need to come into the Watford Office once every few months.
