The Renewables Team at Uniper is responsible for the development of the Wind-onshore business of Uniper, predominantly in Europe. The Renewables business at Uniper is one of the most important pillars of our strategic ambitions. Our aim is to deliver more than 1 GW growth p.a. by 2025 and a minimum of 10 GW on our balance sheet by 2030. Uniper is present across the entire renewable energy value chain, with the ultimate aim of operating major renewable energy production facilities.The renewables team can also count on the Group's extensive expertise in areas such as offtake (PPA in particular), storage, hydrogen, etc.the UK is a key market for Uniper in its strategy to develop renewable energies. Your responsibilities


As a Senior Developer, you will have three main roles:

You will be tasked with developing the Greenfield in-house portfolio in Wind. As such,

  • You will Originate new opportunities and ensure securing the land as well as any needed pre-feasibility qualifications.
  • You will undertake detailed assessments of a site’s renewable development potential, including a detailed examination and interpretation of environmental, policy risks and business case; Manage the full project process from conception, EIA production and review and application submission, potential appeal and discharge of consent conditions in a diligent and effective manner
  • You will liaise with the public and organise and deliver public consultation events and concisely presenting projects to surrounding communities.. Understands the relevant planning processes in each UK jurisdiction and how cost, time and policy factors influence projects commercially or economically
  • You will ensure detailed reporting and full clear control of your projects, and ensure all internal process milestones are met in time, in order to deploy budget efficiently.
  • You will ensure up-to-date and precise project development reporting to ensure top management's capacity to make decisions.
  • You will be in charge of obtaining the relevant approvals from Management in due time for projects to progress positively.
  • You will ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • You will be responsible for monitoring and implementing payments

As needed, you could be required to support the due diligence processes regarding portfolio acquisition/ partnership negotiation, bringing in, in particular, your acute knowledge of the permitting of Wind projects to effectively assess the quality of a portfolio

You will proactively participate in the expertise-building of the Uniper Renewables team.

  • Ensure up-to-date granular knowledge of permitting and ensuring dissemination of information to the relevant departments of the RES team.
  • Support proactively any transversal subject impacting the overall work and expertise-building of the Renewables team


Your profile


Essential:

  • Excellent up-to-date granular knowledge of Project development steps, including Permitting, land contract, grid connection, etc., from origination to ready-to-build
  • Previous experience with Wind development projects, experience in managing the consultation processes, including preparing for and attending pre-application council consultations, managing statutory and non-statutory consultees;
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering planning approvals with UK and Irish planning systems
  • Experience of NGET/DNO connec on processes; Experience in managing consultants and external suppliers; Using GIS systems as well as third party/statutory sources of spa al, environmental and planning informa on;
  • Good network of land owners and land originators. Good land background (RICS)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, motivated by the prospects of negotiating and closing businesses/signing contracts.
  • Continuous improvement mindset, always looking at improving the status quo proactively
  • Strong project management skills, with strong attention to detail, strong attention to keeping deadlines, and managing Long-term projects on a day-to-day basis
  • Capacity to implement and keep up-to-date project management tools (including budget and Cashflow follow-up), ensuring perfect reporting on all aspects of a project, including, for example, status of development, cashflow plans,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capacity to represent positively the business in front of external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication capacity: effectively communicates needs and wants to external consultants and transversal team in an international and multicultural context.
  • Excellent presentation skills, both oral and written
  • Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel

Desirable:

  • Solution-driven, resilient, and willing to learn continuously.
  • Degree (Master or Diploma) in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or comparable studies, planning consultancy
  • Technical expertise in onshore Wind
  • Understanding and use of financial tools and concepts
