Job summary We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Communications and Engagement Officer to play a pivotal role in the Research and Innovation team, within the wider communications team. Reporting into the Communications and Engagement Manager, this role will be a terrific opportunity for someone who is creative and loves interacting with people to find out what matters to them and to tell their stories. The Officer will be required to demonstrate enthusiastic and innovative management of relationships across stakeholders, working with colleagues across the hospital to create new and exciting ways to generate stories for our own channels including digital and social media. The post holder will work with colleagues in the wider communications team to repurpose content for media opportunities where appropriate. Key stakeholders will be within the Research and Innovation teams, clinicians, and colleagues across the wider communications team to ensure the stories you find are reflected across the hospital. Storytelling should work across all our channels and showcase the incredible lifesaving, life-changing that goes on at this hospital every day. Main duties of the job This role involves engaging with staff and building relationships to find great examples of stories that embody our Research and Innovation ambitions, working across the wider communications team to share those stories on our internal and external channels. You will create and curate content for DRIVE social media channels, ensuring the strength of our brand in the sector, working with the Comms and Engagement Manager for Innovation, and complying with corporate partnership agreements. Strong creative digital skills are necessary in this role, ensuring communications on our own channels, press and hospital and DRIVE social media channels are aligned. You will also support filming requests and visits as part of the wider communications team, providing accurate and detailed briefings and timetables and ensuring all of those involved are fully briefed and comfortable with every aspect of a visit. The Communications and Engagement Officer will juggle multiple priorities, supporting both Research and Innovation activities, managing relationships within the hospital and the Children's Charity, becoming a link to clinicians, researchers, innovators, and the press office. You will also meet and get to know patients and their families, understanding procedures and getting to grips with cutting edge and pioneering Research and Innovation to ensure interesting and in-depth coverage of the work that serves to enhance the reputation of the Hospital in the UK and abroad.
