About us UCL’s Department of Computer Science (CS) is a top-ranked Computer Science Department in the UK. About the role We are recruiting for x2 part-time roles at 0.5FTE. The position is based in the Computer Science (CS) department at UCL. Responsibilities include designing learning algorithms, implementing them, and conducting ML experiments. A significant aspect of the role entails developing high-quality software for the project, collaborating with industry partners, and disseminating knowledge to the insurance industry. Please note that appointed at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B Spine point 25 (salary £37,332- £ 39,980 per annum) inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis. This role is 0.5FTE. This post will be funded until 31/01/2025 in the first instance. About you The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong foundation in computer science, with expertise in machine learning algorithms and techniques. Proficiency in designing and implementing learning algorithms, as well as conducting ML experiments, is essential. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate excellent Software Development skills to produce high-quality software solutions relevant to the project's objectives. Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary for engaging with industry partners and disseminating knowledge effectively to the insurance industry. Overall, a combination of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills is key for success in this role. What we offer The Salary is (Grade 6B £37,332- £39,980) (Grade7 £42,099–£50,585) pro rata inclusive of London Allowance.
