This post is full time and fixed term for 10 months We have an opportunity for a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to a project called ‘Purpose in business: empowering employees and enhancing productivity*’ (TPI/ESRC funded)* working with the PI of the project, Professor Bridgette Wessels. The project focuses on developing purpose in business defined in terms of focusing on finding profitable solutions for people and the planet. One of the key challenges is how to empower employees to drive purpose. This project will explore what purpose means for a range of employees, what would empower them to drive purpose and what skills they need. It will also identify what businesses need to do to support them, including changes in work organisation, job redesign, people management, worker voice practices within fair work principles. The successful candidate will be interested in the area of work and employment and should have qualitative research methods knowledge. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
