- THE ROLE -
The post holder will conduct high quality research and development activities, focusing on developing novel multi-axial composites for complex loaded applications. They will be responsible for the set-up and development of the 3D weaving process to generate the textile materials required for the novel multi-axial material and will also be required to develop the design and analysis capabilities to facilitate the preforming process and work with the Ulster University team. The research will be conducted at the School of Engineering on the Belfast campus and at The Northern Ireland Advanced Composites and Engineering Centre (NIACE).
We may create a 12-month waiting list for same or similar roles within the Department / Faculty. The University reserves the right to extend the waiting list across the University if required for certain posts.
- ABOUT YOU -
The postholder will be required to have:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering or closely related discipline.
- A PhD in relevant Engineering area (complete or nearing completion).
- Experience in design and application of advanced preforming techniques, such as 3D weaving.
