We are seeking a driven Restaurant General Managerto join our team for our highly anticipated new venue, Claridge’s Restaurant.

Set in the heart of Mayfair, Claridge’s is an art deco icon and a byword for understated elegance. Since the 1850s, Claridge’s has excelled at the finer things in life: glamorous design, inspiring dining, impeccable service. There are many 5-star hotels in London but nowhere quite like Claridge’s. The hotel is a unique combination of splendour and charm with long-standing connections with royalty that have led to it sometimes being referred to as “annexe to Buckingham Palace”. Claridge’s has a famous all-day dining and Afternoon Tea restaurant the ‘Foyer & Reading Room’, L’Epicerie that offers a culinary theatre of the kitchen, and three bars: Claridge’s Bar, the intimate Fumoir and effortlessly elegant Painter’s Room.

Claridge’s Restaurant has opened its art deco doors onto Davies Street, as it embarks on a new era in its long history. This classically inspired but contemporary British restaurant – which will fully open in September – is now operated in house by the hotel itself. It was previously known as Claridge’s Restaurant over 20 years ago.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

As the Restaurant General Manager you will be responsible for:

• Be responsible for developing and operating a cost effective operation which exceeds guest expectations through the service of high quality food and beverages in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
• Have overall responsibility for all aspects of the restaurant; in particular, related to sales, profit and the development of the restaurant staff.

Entry Requirements

Successful candidates for our Restaurant General Manageropportunity will:

• Demonstrate genuine dedication to Claridge’s and show a commitment to consistent quality in our product and service.
• Have previous experience in a restaurant management role and will have worked in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment, working with a large team.
• Have exceptional knowledge of food, wines and spirits, and a good understanding of artisan and organic products.
• Be able to motivate and lead a team, is adaptable and has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
• Immaculate personal presentation with professional and welcoming personality.
• Ability to deal with high profile guests in a professional manner
