we've got an excellent opportunity for a Restaurant Operational Risk Manager to join our team here at wagamama. you will line manage our regional risk business partners and be responsible for ensuring wagamama operates in a safe, legal and compliant manner leading with cross-functional collaboration and top organisation skills whilst always pushing the boundaries to ensure we are best in class!
this is an exciting time at wagamama as we continue to grow both in the UK and internationally with 165 restaurants in the uk + 10 new openings planned this year. you will lead the nso and transformational refurb programme alongside our auditing programme working closely with all functions across property, maintenance, operations and l+d to deliver safe and hygienic operational policies, owning and maintaining the haccp systems, policies, procedures, documentation and safe systems of work
key responsibilities |
- manage and oversee the internal audit programme manage your team of direct reports ensuing that all escalated complaints and incidents are investigated and drawn to a conclusion in a timely fashion own and maintain HACCP systems, policies, procedures, documentation and safe systems of work support the nso and transformational refurb programme, ensuring restaurants are set up for success and meet the brand standards with regards to food safety + health and safety manage and analyse risk reporting and trends, using these outputs to develop and maintain a positive safety culture in the business manage regulatory challenge, identifying and recommending appropriate action to mitigate legal and brand risk as necessary coach and train operations on regulatory compliance processes and procedures, delivering workshops to improve controls within the business work closely with L&D, HR and Operations to ensure all training regarding food hygiene, health and safety satisfies current legislation manage the fire risk assessment, pest control, and any other regulatory requirements, working closely with the maintenance and property teams. develop, manage, and retain a highly skilled team
the experience + personal attributes we are looking for |
- extensive experience in a senior health and safety role with experience in the food/hospitality industry
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent
- Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety in Catering or equivalent
- experience line managing or leading a team
desired
- membership of recognised professional body (with evidence of meeting CPD requirements) preferred
- knowledge of audit techniques and/or recognised ISO qualification
- educated in a recognised environmental health, food safety or food technical qualification
