Salary: Entry level dependant on experience and qualifications
Assistant: SCP 2-6 (£22,366 to £23,893)
Officer: SCP 7-12 (£24,294 to £26,421)
Fixed-term, 12 Month Contract (Secondment Considered)
37 Hours per week, Monday to Friday
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Housing Benefit Team at Teignbridge District Council. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our friendly team initially at Assistant Level; however, depending on the skills, knowledge and experience you have, we may be able to accelerate you in your career to join our team at Officer Level.

The role mainly involves the collection of information to allow or to undertake the prompt & accurate assessment of customers’ Housing Benefit & Council Tax Reduction entitlements, in accordance with legislation, guidance, best practice and local policy.
Assisting with the processing of any work received from Government fraud referrals, data sharing, quality or performance initiatives. For example, ATLAS, HBAA, VEP & NFI data matches. Recording any outcomes in accordance with set procedures.
At all times, you will make use of all available internal and external datasets, in accordance with lawful data sharing agreements and data protection principles, to verify and review entitlement.
Some knowledge in any of these areas would be advantageous; however, full training and ongoing support will be provided to the right candidate.
