Revenue Controller / Billing Leading - Multi-Disciplinary Barristers’ Chambers

They are recognised as leaders in criminal defence, civil liberties, housing, immigration, family and public law. Chambers is now seeking an experienced Billing Clerk from the legal industry, to work as part of their Revenue Control Team.  In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking accurate and efficient billing for the Practice Team, to meet the operational requirements of the Barristers and delivering a high level of customer services at all times.

The successful candidate will work with the Barristers to implement changes to existing working practices and initiate improvements in the use of the Case Management software to encourage prompt billing and improve debt recovery procedures.

Duties include:

• Efficient and accurate billing, maximising claim levels and turnaround times
• Appealing assessments and incorrect decisions
• Advising barristers on the most effective and efficient billing methods
• Supporting the Credit Controllers on an adhoc basis  
• Participating in departmental meetings and contributing new initiatives

Person Specification:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Must be confident in making telephone calls for fees collection
• Enthusiasm and willingness to develop new skills
• A calm, patient approach to work in a very busy environment
• Ideally with a knowledge of Legal Aid
• Good attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills and ability to assimilate information
