Roles & Responsibilities:

We are hiring for a Ride Assistant Manager here at Thorpe Park. You will be a part of the team which plays a pivotal role in delivering a safe and fun experience for millions of guests on THORPE PARK Resorts world class attractions. You will play a part in supervising, training and being an inspirational manager for the team that work on our family friendly rides such as Dobble Tea Party!, all the way up to our 205ft - 80mph launch coaster Stealth!


To manage and influence the operational and people based elements of up to eight rides within one of the three allocated areas. This includes but not limited to budget, performance and analytical management. You must be cool headed and able to cope in moments of high pressure. A clear understanding of customer service standards and drive to continuously improve is a must.

You will undertake the role of Department Duty Manager on a rotated basis and drive both quality standards and customer service standards. In addition, and most important, motivating the rides team, injecting energy and passion into the operation at every opportunity by adding value and demonstrating urgency.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Manage the day to day rides operation within Thorpe Park Resort while providing world-class guest service and being accountable for operational excellence in regard to safety, efficiency, and capacity.
  • Responsible for attractions downtime, guest situations, special events, VIP ride access and any events occurring related to the ride operation.
  • Lead and maintain area/department CoSWPs, Risk Assessments and other required documentation ensuring they are completed in a comprehensive manner ensuring operational safety and guest experience are maintained.
  • Attend regular management meetings and contribute towards the success of the department. Along with holding area meetings with own management team.
  • Maintain successful operating figures and assist in defining metrics in relation to capacity, service, financial and staff performance. Taking ownership of maintaining standards within area and when required the department.
  • Manage area staffing budget and manage any attractions-related employee events.
  • Ensure all members of the team are meeting the agreed key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that defined area has a consistent approach to performance management and all staff receives their reviews within the agreed timeframe.
  • Directly motivate and manage the performance of the Ride Team Leaders and assist them with the performance management of the Rides Hosts and Operators.
  • To investigate/measure and close off any actions in relation to any incident or near miss occurring on a ride.

Pay Range: Compensation between GBP £27,500.00/Yr.-GBP £27,500.00/Yr.
