AddressTo provide maintenance and repairs across the Animal Centre on buildings, grounds and animal accommodation working within RSPCA licence requirements.
The role will be 2 days a week working 8.30am - 5pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break). 1 day needs to be a Monday (when the Centre is closed) the second day is negotiable but ideally towards the end of the week.
- Weekly routine maintenance of kennel drains and macerator.
- Maintenance as needed for our on site sewage works ‘Biobubble’.
- Weekly water running in empty blocks for legionella prevention.
- Weekly alarm testing across the site.
- Weekly vehicle inspections.
- Routine vehicle cleaning inside and outside as needed.
- Quarterly routine maintenance of cattery drains.
- Quarterly cleaning of cattery buildings.
- Quarterly cleaning of wheelie bins.
- Quarterly cleaning of centre signage and car park barriers
- 6 monthly clearing of all guttering across the site.
- Maintenance of site fencing - painting and minor repairs.
- Routine weed spraying of all gravel areas.
- Routine pressure washing of all pathways as needed.
- Regular weeding.
- Organisation of the maintenance shed including safe storage of chemicals & replenishment
- Repairs across the site as needed.
- Maintain written and computerised records as required.
- To undertake other duties as required by the Animal Centre Manager.
- While at work all staff are required to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts and omissions.
- Cooperate with Branch policies and procedures for health and safety
The role is of course maintenance, however as an animal charity there are lots of animals in our care across the site so a candidate with a love and passion for animals and welfare would be ideal.
