This is an extremely exciting time to be joining Leeds City Academy, one of the most rapidly improving schools within the Leeds area and county of West Yorkshire. Role:

You will take lead responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters arising across Leeds City Academy, supporting all staff in dealing with any child protection/vulnerable children concerns that may arise.

You will be responsible for

• 
  referring cases of suspected abuse to the local authority children’s social care as required

• ensuring the safeguarding systems and processes across the Academy are consistent, efficient and rigorous in approach

• assessing the training needs of staff by implementing and maintaining an ongoing training programme for all staff including induction training for all newly appointed colleagues

• ensuring that all students within the Academy are safe and well looked after

• coordinating and signposting support and intervention for families in relation to housing, transport, benefits in order to improve the educational outcomes and attendance of children
