Job Title: Safety Advisor

Location: Burton Upon Trent (Office-Based with Site Visits)

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum

Benefits: Company van, Pension

Experience: 3-5 years (Steel experience a major advantage)

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Advisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in construction safety, with a significant advantage for those with a background in structural steel. This role involves both office-based work and regular site visits, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
3. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
4. Provide safety training and support to site personnel, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety standards.
5. Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
6. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.

Qualifications:

1. 3-5 years of experience in a Safety Advisor role within the construction industry.
2. Strong advantage for candidates with experience in structural steel projects.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
