North Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) is seeking an experienced and qualified (or part qualified) Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality Manager to be part of its senior leadership team, responsible for the effective management of related compliance and quality management systems.
The role is based at our Weston super Mare Offices. The Company would consider a part qualified candidate who would be sponsored to fully qualify and develop their future within the Business.
NSEC, in partnership with North Somerset Council, is responsible for collecting recycling and waste from over 100,000 homes and commercial businesses across North Somerset, along with managing Household Waste Recycling Centres at Backwell, Portishead and Weston.
You would be joining the Company at a very exciting time, as we are set to expand after successfully bidding for new contract services. NSEC are also launching 5 Year Business Plan involving multiple commercial activities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Professional qualifications and accreditations e.g. NEBOSH, TechIOSH status, COTC
- Be an experienced and passionate safety practitioner conversant with relevant legislation
- Significant experience at a senior level to demonstrate competence in planning, delivery and oversight of compliance management for a multi-site operation
- Understanding of the key requirements of quality and environmental management systems
- Background in a waste, highways or logistics management environment
- Excellent people management skills and participative team member
- Ability to build excellent business relationships with teams, key stakeholders and suppliers
