Sales Engineer
MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
POSITION IN ORGANISATION
Reports To: Sales manager
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To learn and fully understand the product range and possibilities for bespoke solutions/machinery.
- Being able to combine a developing technical knowledge with sales skills.
- Work towards building relationships with existing customers within specific industries.
- Develop new clients within product areas including with some soft targets and some cold contacts.
- Arrange and visit existing customers and potential prospects to present the company and products and investigate potential leads, in order to develop sales and long-term relationships.
- Manage and interpret customer enquiries via email/telephone or site visit and specify the correct equipment for the applications.
- Visit Clients nationally, to assess breakdowns, repairs, new leads and reactive quick turnaround projects as required.
- Picture and measure jobs to price and quote.
- Work with subcontract departments and fabrication to ensure that works are completed in a timely manner to agreed timelines.
- Ensure all quotations meet customer requirements, and comply with Standards and regulations
- Follow up and monitor quotation status with customers.
- In time will be able to resolve technical queries with customers.
- Help develop sales and marketing strategies for new markets and industries.
- Research new leads, markets, applications.
- Support management with new product development.
Daily Operations
- Complete daily tasks and liaise with the sales director and senior management.
- Be sure maximum productivity is achieved
- Ensure that the offices and desks are clean and organized in order to maximize productivity.
- Responsible for sale and delivery of quality products.
- Responsible for maintaining the company’s quality policy and objectives.
- Completion of all purchase order paperwork in a correct manner ensuring that all goods are accounted for and checked, then processed on all occasions.
- Have commercial experience and have self-motivation, drive and enthusiasm.
- The ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
Customer Service
- Liaise with customers to maximize possible sales opportunities.
- Proactively communicate with customers to generate possible leads.
Team working and Staffing
- Contribute towards setting and delivering team goals
- Build good working relationships within the team to ensure all staff feel valued, engaged and motivated in their work
- Regularly communicate with operational and office staff within your team including holding regular team meetings
Health & Safety
- Responsible for safety awareness in all jobs to help eliminate injuries with the department
- Constantly check for safety hazards and ensure problems are rectified promptly
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Follow all safety requirements
- Actively participate in safety improvement activities
- Report any unsafe practices by co-workers
- Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents
