Job description

Job Title: Sales Manager
Location: Newport
Salary: £32,000 per annum + bonuses

Hours: Full time. Monday - Friday days regular
Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting a Sales Manager to work for a company based in Newport on a full time and permanent position.
Responsible for seeking out new business opportunities and developing existing accounts to achieve increased sales for conferences, events and accommodation. Your ultimate aim is to grow revenue in your specific area.
To ensure that wherever possible all available business is placed with-in the company.
This role requires a confident go getter who has the hunger to drive new business into all properties. To succeed in this role, you will need to be a self-starter who is passionate about achieving results and making a difference.You need to be organised to plan and prioritise your time to achieve results.
Main job roles:

  • Responsible for helping to maintain a customer-focused culture which support the values expressed in the Resort Ambition and the Resort's business goals of profitability and service quality.
  • Establishes and maintain effective and positive relationships within the team as well as other departments.
  • Responsible for communication through effective writing, speaking and listening skills.To encourage employees to actively participate in our progress through decision making and ideas.
  • Responsible for regular dissemination of information which is to encompass organisational and individual activities.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual budgets in conjunction with the Senior Executive team.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within their department(s), including but not limited to employee, customer, financial and health and safety objectives.
    Controls
  • Responsible for setting controls relating to the above set standards, enforcing these controls and taking appropriate action when necessary.
  • Responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining a sound organisational structure within the department(s), focused on achieving the Resort and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for defining and documenting job descriptions and person specifications and managing the Human Resource aspect of the department in line with Celtic Manor standards.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, management and the disciplinary process in conjunction with the Human Resources Department for all employees within the department(s).
  • Responsible for ensuring all equipment, tools and supplies are available and maintain relationships with the suppliers of the equipment, tools and supplies.
  • Responsible for delivering the product in accordance with set standards, exceeding the internal/external customer expectations.
  • Attend trade shows & exhibitions as required.
  • Strong networking skills, regularly attending relevant networking events with the ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Proactively seek and identify all opportunities for new business
  • To track all work in Delphi and ensure that all appointments, e-mails and calls are fully updated on a weekly basis
  • Plus many other roles

Required experience

  • B2B sales experience is essential
  • Essential some form of hospitality experience (even minimal - thi doesn't need to be sales related)
  • Experience of Opera, Delphi and Concept systems (desirable)
  • Want to progress a career in the hotel industry / Sales
