Sales & Yard Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and hardworking Sales & Yard Assistant at Harlow Bros, Long Whatton Branch. This is a fast-paced working environment working within a well-established team.

Harlow’s has over 90 years’ experience in Timber, Engineered Timber, Manufactured Buildings and more. With 13 locations across the UK and over 500 employees, from manufacture to merchanting, Harlow’s have the expertise to advise, supply and support you in any project or build.

We are looking for someone with the following experience/qualifications:

· Ability to identify and locate products quickly and accurately

· Ability to provide a courteous and professional approach to customers

· Ability to self-motivate, organise, and execute tasks

· Ability to work safely and cleanly

· UK Driving Licence

Desirable but non-essential experience/qualifications

· Merchant Sales Experience

· Timber knowledge

· Machine capability

· Forklift License

The hours of work are 47 Hours per week, Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays

You will report to the Branch Manager

As a role your primary responsibilities would be:

· To provide a prompt, polite, helpful and professional service to customers in branch and at delivery destinations, always promoting a positive company image

· Greeting and serving customers from the trade counter and processing email sales and telephone enquires

· Identifying, picking, processing, and issuing goods accurately working from written pick notes and job sheets

· Manual rack filling with timber and sheet materials

· Housekeeping of shop and yard

· Pick Up truck deliveries to local area
