Saws/Works Operative | Sheffield | Full Time | Your salary will be dependent on experience

Our client is the UK’s leading forge master in the oil & gas industry and have recently acquired accreditations for the Nuclear and Aerospace industries.  With over 40 years’ experience in forging, they are specialists in creating bespoke products using open die forging.

They currently have an opportunity for a Saws/Works Operative to join the Saw Department, the main duties of the role include, but are not limited to: -

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely cutting of all material issued
  • Ensure the work area is kept clean and safe (including minor maintenance)
  • Accurate processing of paperwork in line with duties
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely extraction and return to stock locations, of all materials pre and post cutting, (as applicable)
  • Assisting the Despatch department when needed

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and personal attributes: -

  • Previous experience of band Saw operation would be advantageous.
  • Physically fit as some heavy lifting/bending is required
  • Ability to interpret instructions (written & verbal)
  • Efficiency and attention to detail is essential
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Fork-Lift licence
  • Combination Side loader Licence
  • Manual Handling
  • Reliable with excellent time keeping

This is a permanent role working either permanent days (9am to 5pm) or permanent afternoons (Monday to Thursday, 12:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, 11:30am to 7:30pm).  Please state your preference on application.
