We are seeking a School Business Manager to join our specialist educational setting in Wakefield. This role is a vital part of our Senior Leadership Team, responsible for leading the school’s support functions and ensuring the delivery of a smooth, efficient, and effective service within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in management and be able to work autonomously, managing delegated budgets and resources.
Day to Day of the role:- Lead the support departments including Finance, Administration, HR, Facilities and Site Maintenance, Health and Safety, Housekeeping, and Catering.
- Ensure support services meet the needs of the children and young adults, facilitating an environment conducive to support and social learning.
- Manage and monitor budgets, financial performance, and activities, ensuring economical running of the support departments.
- Lead on-site HR functions, liaising with central HR and supporting managers with day-to-day HR processes.
- Oversee administrative functions and provide professional leadership to enhance team effectiveness and performance.
- Promote business ethos and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Conduct and facilitate audit processes to monitor service delivery standards.
- Management or professional qualification in a related area (e.g., Management Diploma, Finance qualification) is desirable.
- Knowledge of inspection frameworks used by regulatory and statutory bodies.
- Understanding of regulations and standards for education.
- Experience with financial systems, processes, and budget preparation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
