An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, motivated and able Business Manager to provide leadership and management of the Academy’s strategic and business resources, alongside Academy and Trust Leaders.
We are looking for an excellent Business Manager to operate as part of the Senior Leadership Team to assist the Headteacher in achieving objectives identified in the Academy Development Plan.
You will:
- Provide strategic leadership and development of resources and business functions of the academy and its premises.
- Provide outstanding operational management for all aspects of business services, including finance, facilities and estates management, school administration, catering and health and safety.
- Influence strategic decision making within the Senior Leadership Team at Castleford Academy and across the Trust Business Team.
- Maintain an up to date understanding of relevant educational issues, policies and legislation; and incorporate the implications within the operation of your role.
- Ensure that the academy has effective financial management and that all appropriate financial systems are in place to ensure accurate financial records are maintained in accordance with agreed Trust policies and timetables.
- Investigate and implement activities to attract additional sources of funding.
- Develop, establish and manage effective procedures for site management and maintenance.
- Act as the academy’s Lead Person for Health & Safety and as Fire Officer, advising on all Health & Safety matters, including measures in the event of emergencies.
- Ensure systems are in place for effective monitoring, measuring and reporting of health and safety issues to the Senior Leadership Team, Trust leaders, and where appropriate, the Health & Safety Executive.
- Support Trust Leaders by identifying and managing priorities within the Estates Strategy for the academy.
- Lead and develop the whole school administrative function.
- Motivate and facilitate teamwork and good practice in order to achieve excellent standards of service delivery.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the support staff to meet the needs of the school.
