Hays Education are currently supporting a South Birmingham Primary School based in B17 who are looking to appoint an interim School Business Manager. The role is to commence ASAP, initially on an interim basis, but there is an opportunity for temporary to permanent for the right individual. The role will be Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.
Your new role
Working closely with the head teacher, you will have responsibility for the Finance, HR operations, Estates and selected support services staff within the school.
You will be responsible for ensuring that:
- Best value is obtained for all services engaged and purchases made within school.
- The administration and site teams work smoothly and efficiently.
- Annual budgets are adhered to, and applications are made for available grants to provide additional external funding where possible.
- Provide regular reports for the head and governing body for the school.
What you\'ll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous School Business Manager experience
- Excellent organisation and communications skills
- Demonstrate high standards and expectations of themselves and direct reports
- Experience and skills in financial management, including budgetary planning, control, and auditing
- A high level of IT literacy
- Experience with SIMS/ FMS / Oracle
- Experience of HR management - Absence, probation etc
- Experience with Facilities / Estates management.
