Job description
About the Role Responsible to the Head of Philanthropy (WBS), responsible for a Philanthropy Officer (WBS). In this role, you’ll lead the development of a portfolio of Major Gift (£100,000+) prospects and projects for the Warwick Business School, and hold line management responsibility for a Philanthropy Officer, as required, who will support Development Office led philanthropic priorities in the Faculty. You’ll need to provide leadership and mentoring for individual team members, as well as managing a portfolio of prospects of your own. In this role you’ll be hybrid working within a hot-desking space within the Development and Alumni Engagement team on campus. We support the team to work remotely in accordance with our hybrid working policies Our impact stretches far beyond the boundaries of Warwick’s campus: WBS is for the Change Makers. A Change Maker thinks beyond themselves and their environment; they’re open to other viewpoints and they consider the ripple effect of what they do on a personal, social, and commercial level. Change Makers are much like philanthropists: they’re driven by having the biggest positive impact and a focus on the greater good. Change Makers don’t just accept things at face value; they question and challenge, and they have the drive to pursue every possible solution in order to achieve their ambitions. WBS was the destination for one of the largest donations to The University of Warwick to date, to establish a new Fintech research centre to put Warwick at the centre of this new age of finance; problem-solving holistically, between academic departments, as well as encouraging specific, detailed world class research in Fintech. This gift demonstrates the vital role that philanthropy can play in delivering our goals and shows what can be achieved when we work in step with the aspirations of our alumni and supporters. Our vision is to be Europe's leading University-based Business School, developing transformational ideas and people that shape how we do business and use business to challenge, influence, and build the future. Philanthropy and alumni support are vital to empowering our researchers to solve global challenges and making education more accessible. We’re planning an ambitious new fundraising campaign that will support this. If you can inspire and engage others with this vision, please get in touch for a chat. We’re seeking talented applicants who bring a range of skills and come from a variety of different backgrounds. We welcome experienced professionals and support and train those who want to transition from other careers. We welcome and embrace diversity and offer work flexibility. If you’re looking for a role where you will directly make a difference to people’s lives, and the world we live in we look forward to meeting you.
