We are presently collaborating with an outstanding secondary school located in Harrow to find a Librarian responsible for overseeing, enhancing, and nurturing the school's Learning Resource Centre (LRC).
 
The ideal candidate should possess passion, creativity, and forward-thinking abilities, aiming to promote extensive utilization by both staff and students for educational purposes as well as fostering a love recreational reading.

School Librarian Salary: £23,000k - £27,000k, Full time, Permanent
School Librarian start date: September 2024
 
Coordinating, overseeing, and enhancing the library service to maximize engagement from both staff and students through the strategic planning and execution of various library-related initiatives.
Maintaining an awareness of books currently being published for young people and use this knowledge in the promotion of reading for pleasure within school.
Supervising the School Library, including administration, security, and control of pupil behaviour.
Participating in School Librarian networking group meetings to enhance CPD.
 
 School Librarian requirements:
 
A strong degree in an appropriate subject or relevant professional experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience of working with younger people
Knowledge and understanding of library and information skills
IT literate
