An exciting opportunity has become available to join the School Transport Team. Working within a small team you will take a lead role in day to day operatons ensuring that our eligible pupils get to school and get home from school.
You will need be confident speaking with parents, professionals and transport operators and be able to priortise and problem solve.
Interpersonal skills alongside good analytical skills are key to this role. The service needs are from 7.00am until 5pm and you will work with others on a rota basis to ensure business needs are met.
You will be involved in all aspects of School Transport including:
- Co-ordination and delivery of Home to School and Special Educational and Disability School Transport services
- Working within a broad range of complex problems and environments. Role holders will need to manage changing priorities and use professional judgement to respond to differing situations
Working alongside families, headteachers, social workers, contractors and passenger assistants supporting families with responsive packages using judgment skills to interpret difficult situations requiring significant advanced planning and decision making
- Carrying out home visits, strategy meetings and risk assessments with pupils/families in order to provide a safe environment and duty of care to all concerned
Building relationships with all partners across the service in support.
Colecting, monitoring, collating, analysing and presenting of infomrationand data to ensure the successful delivery of services and infomraing future service delvery.
Responsibility for the co-ordination of DBS clearances, risk assessments and line manageemnt of staff supporting pupils on transport (Passenger assistants).
