The Search Manager is responsible for ensuring the success of digital activity for sales across both PPC and SEO, with a focus on growing the customer base through customer acquisition as well as driving existing customer orders. The successful candidate will manage external agencies, work collaboratively across the wider marketing team, and apply their own expertise to achieve commercial success. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across the UK, US and International markets. The role also offers the opportunity to grow into other digital channels such as video and display. The individual will have one direct report, a full time Search Assistant.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting, Analysis and Optimisation:
- Monitoring key KPIs to a granular level
- Carrying out analysis across several data sources
- Understand and interrogate search performance in the wider marketing context
- Create and agree an ambitious and achievable roadmap across agencies and internal stakeholders
- Focus on continually driving efficiencies in terms of CPA/ROAS to ensure optimisation of performance
- Ensuring tasks are delivered to a high quality and on time by both the agencies and Search Assistant
- Accurately managing marketing budgets and identifying opportunities to further drive performance
- Proactively identify and communicate risks and opportunities
- Identify strategies to acquire new customers and achieve targets
- Support with analysis, including further ad hoc reporting when required
- Work with Trade team to support performance at a category specific level
Management of agencies:
- Management of agency relationships and performance
- Ensure day to day running, implementation and reporting of marketing campaigns in all markets.
- Ensure timely briefing of promotions and activity to ensure activity is deployed accurately.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and confidence to work collaboratively with agency.
- Challenge agency performance and recommendations to drive the best business outcome.
Management of reports:
- Training and coaching of the Search Assistant
- Set objectives, develop knowledge and encourage through task management and delegation.
Keep The White Company at the forefront of Search marketing:
- Attend Search specific industry events and courses to ensure the channel remains at the forefront of the industry
- Always keep abreast of competitor activity, both online and on the High Street
- Work with IT to ensure all SEO back-end optimisations are delivered on time.
- Encourage agency recommendations to deploy the latest tech and activity.
- Supporting the senior manager on wider strategy building.
The skills & experience that you’ll need
- Minimum 4 years’ online marketing experience, specialising in SEM
- Knowledge and passion about online and multi-channel retail
- Experience in one or more online marketing channels
- Advanced practitioner in Microsoft Excel with strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience working with industry tools and analytics packages such as GA4, SA360 and Adobe Analytics
- Experience of carrying out internal administration and finance functions
- Ability to communicate effectively; work well with a team and have a pro-active, ‘can do’ attitude.
- Attention to detail, excellent time management and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience running YouTube plus Display campaigns desirable, but not necessary.
