Security Operations Manager - Guarding
Nuneaton – Regional field-based role

As a member of the Central Security Operations Team you’ll have direct responsibility in managing the effective and resilient delivery of Unipart’s proprietary Manned Guarding services.

As Security Operations Manager - Guarding, with 3 direct reports, you’ll be responsible for the assurance of a safe and secure working environment through the effective deployment of Manned Guarding Security Solutions; proactively reducing risk exposure to Unipart and its customers.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
- Ensure sites are robustly protected through the effective deployment of Unipart’s proprietary manned guarding service
- Lead all guarding staff ensuring they conduct their duties in the appropriate professional manner and manage any performance issues in a timely manner
- Reduce losses from impacting security incidents and security related claims
- Correctly assess and identify security risks, and effectively work with the Security Operations Managers to implement corrective actions and progress reports
- Drive positive customer feedback to ensure manned guarding / security services are seen as business enabler and differentiator
- Support the Guarding Administrator with all aspects of payroll management as required
- Assist Security Operations Managers to deal with customer complaints with regards to security incidents
- Assist / advise customers on guarding security issues and measures
- Develop relationship with local law enforcement agencies as required
- Provide monthly metrics to management on security incidents and impacting events
- Ensure guarding team management team are: correctly managing security documented processes and procedures (Assignment Instructions / SOPs) are developed and effectively implemented across area of responsibility
- Drive positive, collaborative relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Ensure support and continuous development is available to team members, including security awareness and security training programmes
- Support Security Operations Manager(s) when required to conduct security risk assessments and audits; investigate and resolve security issues
- Manage agreed manned guarding KPI’s
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple guarding contracts/ locations
- Proven experience of effectively managing teams and individuals in complex security and risk management environments
- Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of Timegate system/resourcing software, and resource and rota management
- Ability to effectively investigate breaches of policy
- Excellent presentation and organisational skills
- Excellent communication, numerical and literacy skills
- High level of PC literacy, in particular word/excel/PPT/Google workspace skills
- Experience in prioritising own workload around tight deadlines in a pressurised environment
- Experience of the application and management of physical security systems to ensure control measures remain operationally effective
- Can-Do attitude with a ‘growth’ mindset and a flexible approach to work
- Holder of a valid SIA Guarding/Door Supervisor licence
