Security Operations Manager
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Bidvest Noonan for a Security Operations Manager, who will work at our client’s prestigious premises
We require the manager to be SIA licenced – Security Guarding/Door Supervision
Operational Responsibilities
- To have total responsibility and ownership for the day to day running of the security operation at 8 Bishopsgate.
- To ensure KPIs and SLAs are understood and exceeded.
- To ensure all Bidvest Noonan and client policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To lead and motivate the security team ensuring the ethos and core values of the client are reflected in their roles and responsibilities
- Be on call 24/7 unless suitable cover (of same management level or above) is arranged.
- To ensure monthly reports are submitted to the contract manager in a professional and timely manner, within 2 working days of month end.
- Ensure that all site documentation is accurate and maintained in a controlled manner.
- Ensure that requirements set by client and Contract management along with instructions and policies are incorporated within the site Assignment Instructions in a suitable format and are fully and correctly implemented by the security team.
- By regular liaison with key figures within the client’s organization, maintain a good working knowledge of movements of key figures and events within the building, including moves, maintenance and events.
- Ensure correct emergency response by security staff in compliance with established procedures.
- Establish constant liaison with the client during emergencies to take guidance on correct response. Use available information resources to ensure the client and head office management are kept abreast of new developments.
- Interpreting and communicating all policy and procedural direction both within the team and without to the firm’s people (in accordance with procedures agreed by the firm).
- Ensuring all issues and incidents are dealt with and reported on in a timely, professional and efficient manner.
- Providing high quality written and verbal post incident/occurrence briefing reports.
- Maintaining a high degree of personal contact and visibility, at all levels of the firm, in order to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Assessment, audit and review of current procedures and practices, making recommendations for change or amendment as required.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships at all levels of the firm, including individual business units and other service providers.
- Develop and maintain close liaison with external agencies and organizations having a material effect upon the security and safety of the firm.
- Structured and methodical approach, good analysis and problem solving skills combined with the flexibility to change priorities and response according to circumstances.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Daily – brief the Contract Manager and team on pertinent security-related issues
- Monthly basis – report to the contract manager any onsite issues relating to security service delivery and achievements.
- Ensure that all personnel including relief cover employed at the client’s premises undergo the required training and assessment of competency processes, including certification, in line with agreed strategic deliverables.
- Annual basis – Carry out staff appraisals of the Supervisors and ensure that staff appraisals of all team members are conducted to the expected standard.
- Ensure that the Supervisors are given clear goals and objectives over a twelve-month period. Ensure that all team members are provided with suitable counsel to identify annual goals and objectives.
- Prepare and maintain training records for all staff, to include site induction and ongoing training and development needs.
- Complete monthly audits of all documentation. One audit per month.
- Complete a minimum of one knowledge tests of two officers per month.
Job Role Requirements as a Security Manager
- A valid SIA Licence
- Previous experience in a similar role is essential
- Display a thorough and appropriate knowledge of regulations and working laws that govern the security and safety of staff, visitors, contractors, and colleagues
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Evacuation and Emergency procedures, firefighting equipment, evacuation principles and communication skills via telephone/PA/radio equipment
- Good understanding and proven ability in dealing with incident/crisis management
- Good written ability and numeracy are required to prepare working rosters, timesheets, and various other reports
- Excellent English in both verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid front line SIA license.
- Excellent knowledge of operational security software applications or the ability to acquire such knowledge through training.
- 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment).
- NVQ 5 in Security Management (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment)
- IOSH Managing Safely (if not currently held, qualification must be gained within 3 months of employment)
