We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client an SECURITY OPERATIONS MANAGER : AIRPORT/AVIATION who will be based in IRAQ on a 2-year renewable contract.
Purpose
The Security Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-by-day security operation of the airport and to apply the standard operating procedures and policies. This includes compliance with Stations Site Security and Safety programs as well as interaction with various Governmental agencies within the scope of the position.
Security Operations Manager will demonstrate excellent knowledge of all pertinent security regulations and recommended standard operating procedures.
He needs a strong commitment to standard operating procedures and knowledge of appropriate security processes for commercial and cargo warehousing/handling, airport passenger and ground operations, and their associated policies and procedures within the aviation environment.
Working Condition:
The work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather at work sites. Must be willing to work nonconventional work hours as assigned to attend training, inspections, emergencies, etc.
Airport Operational Readiness Team (AORT)
While the airport has not operationally started, the candidate will start work within the Airport Operational Readiness Team as a part of this team in his specialty until the operation of the airport started, his responsibility is to make the airport ready for operation for Security requirements. The candidate will report directly in this phase to the (AORT) team leader.
Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized/accredited university.
A minimum of seven (7) years working experience in this field, Three (3) of which must be in a Senior Operations Management/leadership position.
One or more of the following professional accreditations is preferred:
- Risk Assessment Course,
- Security Managers Course,
- Air cargo and hazardous materials cycle,
- Security detection
Knowledge of Security apparatus, equipment, procedures, and techniques
Knowledge of methods and principles of Aviation Security, unlawful interference prevention, and security investigation
Knowledge of current technology in fire, security, and office environments, including computer applications
Experience/ability to plan, organize, and implement division goals, projects, policies, and practices.
Experience/ability to analyse and solve problems; interpret contracts and requirements.
Possess ability to communicate with the clients and make profitable business deals.
Experience/ability to prepare clear, concise, and complete reports and correspondence.
Experience/ability exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines.
ENGLISH (fluent reading and writing)
Duties/Responsibilities
Lead and manage the Security Operations and team of security operational staff members.
Ensure daily management, administration & maintenance of security devices to achieve operational effectiveness.
Ensure all posts are manned daily with fully trained, fully uniformed, fully equipped staff.
Responsible for the overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required for Security Operations Center.
Conduct risk assessments and updating procedures where necessary.
Monitoring the SOP’s for every position, ensuring they remain updated and current.
Review and update Security Regulations, Directives and Bulletins as appropriate for dissemination.
Conduct inspections and audits of processes and records.
Oversee staffing qualifications and ensure required levels are maintained.
Manage timely, ethical, and professional investigations into security incidents and violations.
Utilize Security Management Systems (SeMS) to identify the root cause for failures and develop mitigating actions to reduce risk.
Evaluate intelligence reports related to security threats and decide a course of action ensuring there is limited disruption to the operation and that passengers, crew, staff, property and aircraft are safe.
Guide and advise staff and airport authorities on security search techniques and control wherever necessary during search and evacuation of aircraft/premises in response to bomb threats and other security incidents.
Assist in the review of security training and provide guidance and assistance to Training Instructors.
Assist in conducting internal and external audits and ensure corrective action is taken to ensure findings are resolved and closed.
Meet regulator/customer/airline/airport representatives when/directed as needed for security related issues.
Create incident reports for management as directed.
Document and submit reports to Director of Airport Security.
Attend regular meetings on behalf of the Director of Airport Security as directed.
