Senior Accounts Assistant

I am working with a Wigan based company who have an attractive opportunity to appoint a Senior Accounts Assistant to join the team and secure an AAT study package. Working closely with the Finance Manager this role offers full exposure across transactional level accounts but will also give the opportunity to be involved in future projects and month end. The work culture is supportive, approachable and the company pride themselves on a high level of staff retention. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Managing the Purchase Ledger
• Responsibility for petty cash, expenses and banking
• Resolving queries and offering support to external and internal suppliers and colleagues
• Statement and bank reconciliations
• Supporting the Finance Manager with Month End procedures

The ideal person will be looking for an opportunity offering a good level of exposure and have at least 12 months experience in an accounts team. The ability to demonstrate strong IT and excel skills is advantageous and a good work ethic and team approach is essential. The autonomy of the role will suit an ambitious individual who is either studying or keen to study AAT and build up a good level of knowledge and experience within an Accounts role getting involved in projects and reporting.
