Senior Accounts Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in a growing business. Our client is currently seeking an enthusiastic Senior Accounts Assistant to join their friendly Finance team. The ideal candidate will have good initiative and a positive attitude. Within this role, for the right person there is scope for progression.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers, including raising sales invoices and processing purchase invoices.
• Bookkeeping.
• Managing accounts up to trial balance.
• Processing and posting monthly journals.
• Liaising with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers.
• Producing weekly and monthly payroll.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
• Investigating discrepancies.
• Managing petty cash transactions and staff expenses.
• Assisting with company audits.
• Planned scope for progression within the role.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday with 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays per annum. Free on-site parking and a contributory pension scheme are also offered.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

• Previous Finance/Accounting experience.
• Experience working with Sage 50 Accounting and Sage Payroll software.
• Sage Line 50 is essential.
• IT literacy, including proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent ability to work under pressure.
