Job Description:
As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various accounting functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a strong work ethic.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sales and Purchase Ledger:
- Ensure all books and records are up to date for timely year-end accounts submission.
- Prepare statutory accounts and submit them to Companies House.
- Conduct monthly payroll and pensions processing.
- Maintain key client accounts and handle weekly debtors and creditors reporting.
- Request necessary information from clients before accounts submission.
- Answer client queries via telephone and email.
- Manage mailbox, ensuring invoices are posted correctly, and promptly respond to client queries.
- Prepare ageing debtors monthly for clients.
- Complete VAT returns.
- Perform income distribution schedules and bank transfers.
- Liaise with consultants' secretaries to obtain relevant documents and information.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as reasonably required, commensurate with the level of responsibility.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience using Sage 50 and Sage Account Production.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work to targets and take responsibility.
- Self-motivated and hardworking.
- Knowledge of Peoples Pension.
- Reliable and dependable to complete tasks on time.
