Senior Accounts Assistant

An excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing business. This role would suit a candidate that has full understanding of Transactional Finance along with producing monthly management accounts.

My client is a growing business based in Hemel Hempstead.

Description

The Senior Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

* Manage the finance team including, but not limited to:
* Ensuring sales invoices are raised & submitted promptly
* Accounts Receivable activities - issuing statements to customers, early warning chasers, chasing up overdue accounts, liaising with sales / operations team members to enable quickest retrieval of overdue accounts
* Oversee the process of purchase invoices being receipted into our scanning software, ensuring these are "mapped" and analysed/coded correctly, before issuing out to the wider team for approvals
* Accounts Payable tasks including collating approved supplier invoices, generating pay-runs weekly, ensuring sub-contractors CIS status' are correct
* Setting up new suppliers on Xero when they have completed our application forms
* Credit checks on new customers
* Preparing VAT returns
* Coordinating and directing the preparation of quarterly financial forecasts and reports, and reporting on any variance
* Preparing and issuing monthly Work In Progress statements to Finance Director on a monthly basis, in line with our finance calendar
* Support month-end and year-end close process
* Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
* Manage and comply with local and national government reporting requirements and tax filings
* Ensure all transactions are recorded, filed and reported properly
* Additional tasks as necessary, which may not be outlined on this document
* Report weekly to Operations and Finance Director
* Create and publish annual finance calendars (internally)
