Purpose
As Senior Business Analyst, you will assist the Commercial & Markets Manager in expanding pipelines through acquisitions, assisting with the preparation of offers, coordinating internal approval processes and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Whilst supporting the SPR (ScottishPower Renewables) team through all aspects of sales processes which includes due diligence, contract negotiation, completion and approvals, you will carry out analysis to identify acquisition opportunities in relation to SPR, collating market data and competitor intelligence.
Liaising with Energy Retail and Global Energy Management to support the management of existing and new PPAs in both the UK and Ireland, you will also help facilitate a route to market for SPR assets which also includes third party PPAs and existing master agreements.
Facilitating SPR assets with GEM (Global Energy Management) in the Capacity Market, within the UK and Ireland, you will assist in developing new and diversified revenue streams for renewable assets through ancillary services and the balancing mechanism. This capability could vary across different sites and technologies and be tailored for each.
It will also be required to maintain a thorough understanding of physical delivery capabilities and supply demand balances with a detailed understanding of transmission tariffs, operating procedures and physical capabilities.
Responsibilities
Collating various inputs and understanding the functions of teams across ScottishPower such as Project Delivery teams, Global Energy Management, Energy Retail and Operations, as well as wider Iberdrola global business units in support of the delivery of acquisition targets, you will assist in identifying new business opportunities and services for new and existing assets by liaising with Global Energy Management in relation to various renewable technologies.
With Corporate Development, you will also support the SPR team through all aspects of sales processes which includes due diligence, contract negotiation, completion and approvals.
Assessing and translating market competition, industry trends, emerging regulatory challenges and changes in the marketplace into strategies, you will be required to act as the internal and external expert on all issues impacting operational and development assets relating to energy markets, ancillary services and flexibility opportunities. Collaborating with policy/regulatory functions to identify and develop new sources of revenue, working with Global Energy Management to craft value propositions to optimise operational and development assets, you will also liaise and assist in analysis, development and presentation of proposals for auctions and bids relating to ancillary services and other revenue markets for SPR's assets, including participation in the Capacity Market.
Facilitating routes to market for SPR assets in terms of PPAs, you will also assist in the presentation and approval of new revenues, ancillary services and contracts as part of the Investment Dossier process to support new build onshore and PV generation.
What you'll bring
As a minimum, you will possess a professional qualification/relevant degree qualification. With experience of analysing complex issues and identifying solutions in relation to business opportunities, you will possess a strong understanding of economic fundamentals, energy markets and renewable generation.
With an appreciation of commercial agreements and negotiations, you will be highly IT literate with the ability to operate MS office systems and display your excellent communication skills which includes report writing, presentations and the ability to speak confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
