Job description The Senior Business Manager (Operations) within the School of Mental Health and Psychological Sciences (MHaPS) at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) will provide senior management and oversight across the School’s operations activity of education, space, people, and projects. The role will work across the relevant Faculty teams and liaise with key contacts in the university Directorates to ensure the effective running of the Operations cluster within the School. Working with the Head of School Operations and Faculty Professional Services Leads, the role is responsible for administration of the School’s operations portfolio, ensuring the smooth running of the School’s UG, PGT and PGR courses alongside the dedicated Education Support Team (EST), overseeing and maximising efficiencies for the School’s space estate, ensuring correct H&S and asset management processes and delivering on the School’s people plan – embedding the principles of culture, equality, diversity and inclusion (CEDI) across the School and leading on significant projects and initiatives. . The role will provide high level support, including strategic, financial, and resource information for the Head of School and Heads of Department, ensuring efficient and effective operational management within business operations through managing a team of business operations staff. They will ensure that work is properly assigned, adequate training and support is provided and develop a high-performing and solutions focused team. The role would suit someone who has experience of managing and developing a team, is proactive in identifying areas for efficiencies through understanding day-to-day operational detail and linking to bigger picture initiatives and is able to build and maintain effective collaborative working relationships across organisational units. The role will provide individuals with a wide variety of experience and skills working across multiple operational functions in a large and complex organisation, supporting the individual to progress their career within operations and senior management across the University.
