Reporting to the Global Procurement & Supply Chain Director, this role offers the opportunity to become a key player in their procurement and supply chain team, taking the reins of the entire purchasing process.
From selecting top suppliers and negotiating the best prices to making purchases, optimising stock levels, and guiding others on sourcing, you'll be instrumental in ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
This is a remote role with travel to the office in the Northeast 1-2 times a month.
Responsibilities
- You'll negotiate with key suppliers to secure the best pricing and stock holding terms
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be met to optimise warehouse space and ensure top-selling items are always in stock
- Risks within the supply chain will be identified, managed, and mitigated, while hidden opportunities will be unearthed and capitalised on
- Collaboration with suppliers on product specifications and managing any necessary revisions will be undertaken
- You'll ensure accurate system data, including lead times, pricing, supplier information, and purchase orders, are maintained
- New suppliers will be sourced, with risks assessed and the item change process managed.
- You'll partner with senior management on stock and non-stock items
- Other departments will be assisted with purchase order issues, delivery discrepancies, and price variations
- Review and adjustment of demand forecasts for inventory items, purchasing systems, and reporting tools will be conducted
- Working with the Marketing team to predict future demand levels is keyDevelopment and implementation of sourcing strategies for specific categories will deliver a competitive advantage
- You'll work cross-culturally with suppliers around the world
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in purchasing negotiation
- Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM) preferred
- Five+ years' experience in a similar role
