How you'll make a difference
Working across the Environment and Community Services and Chief Executive and Corporate Resources departments, you will play an important role in ensuring the Complaints, Freedom of Information and Information Governance service provides excellent customer service to our customers and communities.
What will you be doing?
- In the role you will assist in the administration of all customer feedback including compliments, concerns, MP enquiries and complaints under the Corporate Customer Feedback procedures.
- You will provide specialist advice to ensure the departments are compliant with its legal, statutory and council policies relating to Information Governance and Freedom of Information requirements.
- You will act as a key point of expertise and advice on these areas. This will include working with managers in the department and council ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR and complimenting the corporate approach to Information Governance led by Legal Services.
- It will be your responsibility to ensure that data incidents are appropriately logged and investigated, including providing appropriate advice, guidance and challenge to the line managers of the areas concerned.
What we need from you
- It is essential that you have a relevant professional or equivalent degree level qualification or have equivalent relevant experience in advising on compliance with Information Governance and Freedom of Information requirements.
- We require you to demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of contributing to developing processes, procedures and/or projects
- You will have well-developed interpersonal skills for persuading, influencing and be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with customers.
- You will have good literacy and report writing skills.
