The role:
- Excel at writing with precision: e.g. producing quality, factually accurate writing within agreed timelines, according to the given brief for the appropriate audience and channels
- Master your creative flair and storytelling abilities, producing compelling, precise and soulful materials for different audiences
- Competently interpret and appraise briefs, ensuring alignment on the immediate and big-picture strategic and business goals
- Address internal and external comments intelligently, and question any that are unclear, inaccurate, or inappropriate
- Effectively critique other Writers’ work and provide precise and soulful writing mentorship to junior members of the team
- Seek opportunities to share experience and impart acquired knowledge onto other members of the department
- Become the go-to brand and scientific guardian on the accounts you look after
- Understand market dynamics and client needs, and contribute to problem-solving as part of your cross-functional team
- Take leadership on each assignment, providing guidance to junior members of the team where necessary
- Master problem-solving skills and the ability to come up with creative solutions for wider business challenges
- Work as part of a creative or cross-functional team producing sound concepts and work of high quality and visual impact
- Input into department processes and suggest improvements in ways of working, supporting the Associate Head of Copy and Head of Copy where necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships both internally and with clients, where your expertise is sought after to maintain quality of outputs
- Begin to line-manage one or more junior members of the team, providing them with solid foundations for development
- Actively and thoughtfully participate in pitches and proposals
- Channel the curiosity mindset in your interactions with everyone
- Be mindful of bringing your best self to your craft, beginning to inspire others with your bravura
- Champion humanity in both our work and in our interactions with one another
- A degree-level qualification in a science-related discipline
- 3–5 years of experience working in healthcare communications or an equivalent environment
- Proven excellence in producing written healthcare marketing work to a high quality
- Experience in business development (pitches etc)
- Experience in building robust relationships with clients
- Experience in mentoring junior colleagues
- Creative problem-solver
