Senior Corporate Affairs Manager
A unique opportunity to join a fast-paced Corporate Affairs Team as a Senior Manager whose role is instrumental in enhancing and protecting Costa Coffee’s reputation through proactive and reactive communications and campaigns. This role is the perfect blend of Corporate Affairs, public affairs, corporate communications and crisis and issues. The role will help drive decision making, counsel the business across multiple markets and platforms and support an exciting growth agenda.

A bit about the role...
Day to day you will deliver Costa Coffee’s Corporate Affairs strategy, seeking to enhance and protect the brands reputation, driving thought leadership and owning external opportunities to tell our corporate narrative. You will be responsible for:
- Ownership of corporate leadership and engagement opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand with external key stakeholders (government, media, trade bodies, NGO’s).
- Responsible for managing Costa Coffee’s public affairs agency (including budget management).
- Designing and developing a corporate risk register and developing policy and plans to address ‘known’ issues for the brand.
- Responding and resolving crisis and issues in a timely manner.
- Protect and advance Costa Coffee’s reputation through effective communications and stakeholder management.
- Deputising for Head of Corporate Affairs (when needed).
A bit about you…
You are a passionate Corporate Affairs expert with a strong understanding and experience in public affairs and corporate communications. You are driven and self-motivated and have:
- A proven track record of developing Corporate Affairs strategies and executing high profile campaigns that influence and engage internal and external stakeholders, including government and media.
- The ability to distil complex government policies and legislation and shape future policy.
- Confidence and expertise in managing high risk issues and crises in a global organisation.
- Strong leadership style, with ability to influence at all levels, across global markets.
- Experience taking complex messages and turning them into simple, relevant and meaningful communications for internal and external use.
- Exceptional talent and flair for written and verbal communication.
- An abundance of drive and passion, and proactive and team player – willing to roll sleeves up, comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
- Ability to work at pace
- Retail, service or FMCG industry would be advantageous
- Consumer PR experience preferable
- Experience managing external agencies

Location: Remote role with an expectation of being present in our Central London office a minimum of 2 days per week.
