The role
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of ITV’s Commercial Technology and Change organisation. You'll be a member of the Product team, working with cross-functional teams at the forefront of defining and delivering ITV’s Commercial Technology products and supporting our ambition to support our Linear and VOD inventory workflows, systems and insights. You’ll have a significant influence on ITV’s success in this area with strong backing and support from ITV leadership across Commercial Technology.
The role will entail but not be limited to:
- Scoping & Shaping: Lead the scoping and shaping of key data focussed initiatives for the targeting of, measurement of and learning from advertising. Contribute data analytics expertise for data product development and custom analytics projects, with the latter particularly focused on effectiveness metrics and reporting to prove the value of our advertising and data products to advertisers. Apply creativity and judgement in developing new approaches and solutions for data products that are optimal fit for the outcome needed.
- Planning & Roadmap: Proactively suggest data driven solutions to add value to the business wherever possible.
- Definition & Delivery: Co-develop automated analytics-led data products for commercial and operations teams, highlighting media opportunities, advertising products performance and campaign optimisation (analytical input). Help shape, develop prototypes, test and optimise data products for high-quality ad targeting and reporting as part of a cross functional team, including data strategist, data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to drive projects forward.
- Transition: provide guidance, training and expertise to the transition of data product developments into smooth operational running, including with business teams to embed data solutions for maximum outcome.
- Acceptance: support QA acceptance processes, particularly with a focus on data quality ensuring the product is fit for purpose for business teams.
- Support: respond to inbound support queries around data products and issues, offering data analytics expertise and explanations, as well as potential product iterations where appropriate.
- Data Analytics Expertise: Communicate analytics outputs to business stakeholders in a non-technical, commercial and impactful manner to drive value.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Extensive experience of working in the data analytics industry, preferably with extensive digital exposure
- Expansive experience working with cloud platforms
- Strong experience analysing large datasets (using SQL or equivalent)
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders and engineering teams
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Ability to work in cross-functional product teams and the delivery of scalable, robust data products.
- Working in fast-moving, learning-based and agile environments.
- An understanding of decentralised (e.g. data mesh) data architectures, and data quality and testing approaches.
- Interest in digital media and familiar with advertising technologies and platforms & the TV landscape
- Experience mentoring junior members of the team
