Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

The Data and Analytics Office was established to transform HSBC into a truly data-driven organisation by ensuring that every design decision has a built-in data consideration. We provide leadership that enables data and analytics to be a key driver of our business strategy. And, we work closely in partnership with senior stakeholders and delivery teams all over the world to connect the business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin customer value and financial success.

In this fantastic senior level role, with opportunities to progress further as a Chief Data Officer, you will design, develop and govern strategic data objectives within the  Data and Analytics Office (DAO). You will be responsible for embedding the data strategy, driving a data centric culture, and interpreting data to drive strategic business decisions. This involves tasks such as identifying key insights from data, partnering with senior stakeholders, defining business data requirements, building robust data controls, implementing data governance and quality assurance across key business services.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Identify, design and implement data controls across HSBC UK
  • Manage, lead and support the implementation of the Data Strategy including initiatives under the Protect, Connect and Unlock pillars.
  • Build extensive business relationships and embed ownership of data with the in-country business and data communities.
  • Run and present awareness sessions to embed Data Usage controls into BAU.
  • Report to senior stakeholders on progress and blockers and ensure changes and progress are rigurously recorded through governance.

Request

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Comprehensive measurable experience within Senior data management and data transformation roles
  • Extensive understanding of data improvement and and data governance, including governance drafting experience
  • Experience communicating to senior stakeholders frequently, including  simplifying complex themes and presenting recommendations for consideration
  • Considerable team leadership experience, including setting team performance expectations and monitoring progress.
  • Helios experience preferred

This role is based in Birmingham or Sheffield.
