Their healthcare division is soon to commence construction of a £180m+ scheme encompassing refurbishment, new build extension, basement dig, and new front elevation works at one of London's most renowned hospital sites.
Job Description
As the Senior Design Manager you will oversee the project from completion of PCSA through all construction activity. You will be the key point of contact for client reporting and communication and will be the line manager for a Design Manager already working on the scheme. Your key repsonsibilities will be:
- Managing the design process using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise
- Leading all client interaction, specifically focused on clear reporting, design programme management, and change control procedures
- Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate
- Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales
- Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction
The Successful Applicant
Applicants for this Senior Design Manager should have:
- A clear track record as a Design Manager within a main contractor environment
- Healthcare project experience, ideally projects of scale including refurbishment and new build elements
- A proven ability to problem solve and generate solutions for clients and build teams alike
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with clients within the healthcare sector
- Some direct line management experience is advantageous but not essntial
