Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils are looking to recruit two flexible and highly motivated Senior Electoral Services Officers to join our Electoral Services Team. To be successful, you will and share our values, commitment and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities. You will join us on a part time (18.5 or 30 hours per week), permanent basis. The successful candidates will earn a competitive salary of £29,269 - £33,945 per annum (pro rata for part time)

About the Senior Electoral Services Officer role:

You will be responsible for delivering in-depth electoral registration and election processes and providing opportunities to improve working practices as we deliver safe election results and react to legislative changes.
The service operates a hybrid working model with officers splitting their week between home and our modern open plan offices in Ipswich.
During busy periods, such as during elections, you will be expected to work predominantly from the office and possibly undertake additional hours. This could include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Annual leave may be restricted during busy periods.
As our Senior Electoral Services Officer:
We are seeking a flexible and proactive team player with proven experience in being organised, customer focused and applying processes.
You will have the ability to understand situations, develop solutions to problems and use your initiative with accuracy.
Confident working as part of a team and independently, you will manage a busy workload across the Electoral Services team.
You will:
- have excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills and be able to deal with people at all levels
- have a can do attitude, be able to multitask and manage and prioritise a variety of tasks to strict deadlines
- be proactive and have a measured approach to responding effectively to enquiries
- be computer literate, with experience in using excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook. Attention to detail, alongside the ability to manage data and maintain accurate records is key for this role
