The main purpose of this position is to assist the Management Accountant as part of a small accounts processing team, in maintaining and developing an effective accounting system, and providing support to a large number of internal and external customers.
Your day as the Senior Finance/Accounts Assistant will involve using microsoft business central & microsoft dynamics and is largely to support the Management accountant in the following ways:
* Processing accounts & month end journals
* Assisting in the preparation of grant funding claims
* Processing sales orders/invoices/credits/receipts, including banking amounts received
* Processing purchase orders/invoices/expense claims/credits/payments, including cheque, BACS and credit card payments
* Maintaining customer and supplier records
* Processing subsidies and weekly BACs run payments.
* Assisting in the preparation of payments by the charitable trust arm of the business
* Preparing and maintaining spreadsheet analyses
* Dealing efficiently with internal/external accounts enquiries and information requests including support to staff budget holders and external audit support)
The successful Senior Finance/Accounts Assistant will have:
* Demonstrable computerised accounts processing experience based in a business or educational environment
* Excellent IT skills, with experience of using MS Office and databases
* Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
* GCSE English and Mathematics Grade A – C or equivalent
* Ability to multi task and cope with conflicting demands, while working to deadlines
If you have an AAT NVQ qualification & knowledge of web based applications that would be great but not essential.
