We are currently recruiting for a brand-new Senior Information Governance Manager role, in the London office of our client, a leading US law firm.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Records Management Director to formulate strategy and develop initiatives in order to put leading practices in place and ensure that processes evolve.
The role will involve collaborating with senior stakeholders, firmwide departments, firm committees and practice groups, to develop Information Governance policies, processes and solutions. In addition to this, the Senior Information Governance Manager will assess the firm’s compliance with legal, regulatory and operational requirements for the governance of client and firm information.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Helping to develop and oversee the implementation of leading methodologies to support the management of firm and client information.
- Advising on compliance responsibilities in regard to records lifecycles.
- Identifying business requirements to automate Information Governance processes.
- Addressing policy questions and helping to outline effective processes.
- Leading and driving the adoption and evolution of NetDocs.
- Proposing solutions for technical Information Governance or IT issues.
- Overseeing the program for securing information to comply with ethical and confidential screens as required to satisfy client or regulatory requirements.
- Preparing reports for the Director that measure the state of the firm’s effectiveness at managing information.
Suitable candidates will be degree educated and have at least ten years of prior experience within records management, Information Governance, IT, compliance or security, five of which to be at managerial level.
Hands-on experience of delivering process, operation and technical improvements to address gaps and mitigate risks in regard to how information is acquired/used/retained/disposed is also required.
The Senior Information Governance Manager will also need to possess a strong knowledge of NetDocuments functionality and qualifications such as Information Governance Professional (IGP) or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) would be highly desirable.
