Position Overview:

- Location: Manchester
- Contract: Temporary (up to 6 months)
- Pay Rate: £270 per day
About the Role: As a Senior IT Support Officer, you will play a key role in providing second-line IT support to end-users. This involves managing complex technical issues, escalating third-line problems, and overseeing a small team of IT Support Officers. The role also encompasses hardware and software support, IT peripheral deployment, and maintaining a secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide second-line IT support, ensuring service desk tickets are resolved within service levels.
- Manage a small team of IT Support Officers, including line management responsibilities.
- Support and mentor first-line IT Support Officers, prioritizing and escalating issues as needed.
- Develop knowledge-based articles and contribute to end-user training programs.
- Monitor and uphold Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Identify security issues, resolve where possible, and escalate complex security concerns.
- Collaborate with the IT Service Desk Manager to deliver an annual training program for end-users.
- Stay updated on best practices in IT, contribute to audits, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Degree in an IT-related subject or equivalent experience.
- MCSE Certification or equivalent experience.
- ITIL Foundation level certification.
- Experience in a similar role supporting users over a multi-site environment.
- Strong technical knowledge in end-user support, Microsoft 365, Windows 10, and AV systems.
- Leadership skills and experience managing a team.
- Proven ability to manage projects and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
- Flexibility in working environment and commitment to health and safety.
Desirable Skills:
- M365 certification, VMware Certified Professional, or PRINCE 2.
- CCNA certification.
- Experience supporting VDI solutions, MS Dynamics, or SharePoint environments.
