A regional House Builder within the Yorkshire region who build high quality 2-5 bedroom properties, are currently seeking a Senior Land Manager to join their team.
The role
- To actively seek land opportunities via enquiries, searches or direct approach.
- To manage the acquisition of suitable opportunities for residential development
- To negotiate appropriate land interests and oversee the price negotiations at the point of
- To seek introductions to landowners with potential development sites via agents or direct
- Evaluate the development potential and associated feasibility of site opportunities.
Daily duties/key responsibilities
- Prepare offers for submission, subject to approval
- Liaising with Land Director on the current stages of land negotiations
- Prepare Land Purchase Approval Packs for submission to Corporate for approval.
- Attending regular Land Meetings with Land Team and collectively updating team with current
- position on potential acquisitions / negotiations.
- Prepare and circulate New Site Briefing Notes to colleagues
- Liaise with the Legal Department on terms and conditions agreed with the land owner/agent.
- Instruct architects to undertake initial feasibilities, having prepared a Briefing Note and liaised
- with the Land Director.
- Liaise with planning consultants and other professionals
To be successful:
- Specialist knowledge and experience in the appraisal of development opportunities
- A sound knowledge of land acquisition, associated site evaluation, market research and
- feasibility/cash flow production.
- A sound understanding of the planning system and procedures
- A good local knowledge of the Regional Area and associated markets.
- A developed network of land agent contacts and a desire to expand that network.
