SalaryTotum Partners is searching for a Legal Cashier for a leading law firm for a 6-month FTC to lead a finance team project.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing monthly progress reports to the Client Accounting Manager.
- Assisting fee earners in returning client money post-matter completion.
- Initiating correspondence with clients for balances under £500.00.
- Managing the firm's client funds reporting system to ensure compliance.
- Analysing finance systems and matter files for client account transactions.
- Processing credit notes, re-billing, and ledger adjustments.
- Seeking partner approval for client account withdrawals.
- Verifying client bank details before remitting funds.
- Identifying reasons for holding client funds and notifying clients accordingly.
- Conducting procedures for unknown client identities or whereabouts.
- Preparing SRA applications for untraceable client balances.
The ideal Legal Cashier will possess:
