Senior Manager - Regulatory Risk (Compliance)

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading bank in NI who are seeking to recruit a new Senior Manager within their Regulatory Risk Compliance team.

The Role:

As Senior ManagerRegulatory Risk you’ll report to the Head of Regulatory Risk & MLRO and will ensure that the Bank’s UK business is conducted in compliance with the Regulator’s rules and principles for the framework risks of customer conduct, market integrity, data protection, and licensing oversight.

You’ll ensure that current and emerging regulatory/legislative obligations and industry compliance trends are identified, understood and met through the provision of guidance, advice, and training on policy development and implementation.

You will also lead and manage the Regulatory Risk Compliance Team as well as deputise for the Head of Regulatory Risk & MLRO including attendance at senior and subsidiary risk committees.

Your skills:

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

• 3rd level Legal or Business related qualification.
• Significant experience in the Financial Services Industry to include relevant experience in retail banking and/or specialised areas in a Head Office environment.
• Expert understanding of the UK Financial Services regulatory compliance environment.
• Mature understanding of the UK Financial Regulator’s rules and principles and appropriate compliance.
• Experience of successful interaction at a senior level up to and including ExCo and Board.
• Proven success in people leadership and team management.
• Proven ability and experience at managing compliance horizon risk successfully.
• Excellent communication skills (report writing, presenting at senior forums, senior influencing skills).

Preferred

• Qualification to Diploma level in Compliance or Risk Management.
• Direct experience of successful interaction with the UK Regulators (FCA, ICO).
• Experience of operating within a broader Risk function which included other non-financial risks such as financial crime, operational risk, data risk, and IT/technology risk, conduct risk.
